Diasporican Art in Motion: Artist Submission
The Center for Puerto Rican Studies (CENTRO) is the only research institution nationwide exclusively devoted to documenting the Puerto Ricans experience in the diaspora. Our Centro Library & Archives, as well as our Research Department and Journal are well known due to their contributions to Puerto Rican Studies.
With the creation of a searchable digital artist index, we seek to reduce these artists’ marginalization by amplifying their exposure in academic and other cultural settings in order to bring more recognition to their aesthetics and ethical positioning. The artist profiles contain a biography, artist statement, work samples, media products, intellectual content created by or about them (catalogs, interviews, conferences, reviews), and more. Artists in the database span multiple generations, movements, and media. As the project progresses, additional disciplines will be added to the initiative. Artists in the archive include Pepón Osorio, Nitza Tufiño, Candida Alvarez, Edra Soto, and More.
We invite you to share your information and work to be considered for the Diasporican Art in Motion initiative by completing all sections of the following form with the information requested.
